Had a great few days teaching on a refresher learn to lead course, we were lucky with the weather and had two days at Stanage then the last day at Burbage. We went over all aspects of lead climbing and more importantly they gained confident in there ability in placing protection and rope work.

Intro to climbing

Had a great few days with Dave and Jon on the intro to climbing. The day started at Yarncliffe it was very windy, so safety was paramount at the top. The sun did come out in the afternoon and were able to do lots of climbing and setting up systems.

Dave on Aphids Wall great climbing for the first day.

Jon smashing out Aphids Wall as well.

Day Two was just as windy so we headed to Rivelin.
Dave making short work of Rodney's Dilemma.

John on the finishing moves of Left Edge.

It was great to see them setting up there own systems by the end of the course.

Stanage

Decided to head to Stanage this morning, the weather forecast was good. We ended heading to the plantation area and the warm up route was cold on the hands, but as the day progressed it warmed up nicely and we had a good day on the grit.

Joe seconding me up Tower Face Original, this one was cold on the fingers.

North Wales

Went into the Ogwen valley and headed to do the Devils Cellar, but found it was a bit thin for my liking so ended up on Central Route, which was turning to slush as we were on it. Once at the top we hit alot of deep snow and the wind was very strong which was making the going tough. But enjoyable.
